The wheel is simply a circle split into segments to which you assign categories.
The segments are graduated from 0 to 10 with 0 being in the centre of the circle and 10 being at the outside.
To use the interactive wheel, decide on your focus, for example your personal life or your business, then select one of the prepared wheels or select Custom to create your own.
After choosing your wheel, score your sense of satisfaction for each category, with 0 being worst and 10 being best, and enter your score in the box adjacent to the relevant segment.
If you are uncertain regarding how to rate your sense of satisfaction with the categories, here are some possible questions regarding the Wheel of Life categories to assist you.

What you are aiming for with your completed wheel is to have all segments scored evenly, above 7 and as near 10 as possible.
If you have some segments scored lower than 7, possibly some with particularly low scores, then it is necessary to investigate how they may interact with each other in order to identify the area to address first.
For example, with the wheel of life, if there are low scores for Money, Career, Personal Growth and Fun & Recreation, it may be that the low score for Personal Growth could be linked to a low Career rating or it could be that this person has not been concentrating on their personal development.
Fun & Recreation scored low could be tied to the low score regarding Money.
Not having sufficient money could mean that a person may be unable to go out or engage in recreation that has an appreciable cost associated with it, which can lead to a low level of morale and lack of desire to have fun.
A low score for Money could also be tied to the low score for Career, though it may be that money is low due to poor financial management.
Hence it can be that a low score in one category can result from other factors and that working to improve the score in a category can have a 'knock-on' effect on other areas.
Now you have your printed wheel, the next question is; What to do with it?
If you have only one category scored low then where to start seems apparent though, to ensure areas currently scored high retain their current evaluation, a well formed outcome is required before beginning to make changes.
For example.
If the only category scoring low is currently Career, going full-out making changes regarding your career without paying close attention to the effect of these changes on other areas could result in the score for Career improving but at the expense of, say, Fun and Recreation and Friends and Family.
Where there are a number of categories to which you have assigned a low score, where to begin is a little more complex.
As highlighted above, categories are interrelated and action in one area is likely to affect other areas so, where to start, requires some thought and consideration.

If, for example, we take the Wheel of Life described above in 'Interpreting Your Wheel'; where there are low scores for Money, Career, Personal Growth and Fun & Recreation, then considering these results may indicate a focus on Career in order to improve the scores for the other areas.
You may or may not be clear about the direction you want to take regarding your career but, if you are, exactly how you do this may initially have negative implications on Money, Fun & Recreation and Friends & Family, so a good, detailed and accurate plan will need to be formulated in order the changes are properly managed.
